Twelve Paperplanes: B E H I N D the A R T: Lion

This is where it all started for me.

This guy was created with ink pens and water colours in 2010. It was after reading exodus 3.

¹¹But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” ¹²And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you^[b] will worship God on this mountain.” ¹³Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” ¹⁴God said to Moses, “I am who I am.^[c] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” ¹⁵God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord,^[d] the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’

“This is my name forever,
the name you shall call me

from generation to generation."

I did a lot of pondering back then. I had the time.

When I look at this piece and remember all the dreams I had about the future and art and what I was born to do in this world…I remember why I wrote I AM WHO I AM in his mane.

Simply put, I can't fight with someone who already knows why I am the way I am and why I am here.

He told Moses to go. He told me to go and he told you to go.

So go.

You have a gift, use it. Don't worry about the next 10 years of your life, don't worry about next week.

Trust the creator of the gift inside of you.

That is what I hope this Lion yells at you.

Just like it yells at me.
